Lamp Nmamed Officer of the Year

Lt. Chad Lamp (R) was recognized as the recipient of the 2020 VFW Law Enforcemen Officer of the Year for the State of West Virginia at the Sept. 14th meeting of the Hancock County Commission. Presenting Lamp with the award was Tom Torrence, commander of VFW Post 6450.
Candidates for the award are submitted by their respective sheriffs or police chiefs based on military service and current position.
Sheriff Ralph Fletcher said “Chad has been an integral part of the Sheriff’s Office since 2006 and has advanced through the ranks to his current position as Lieutenant in 2015.”
Chief Deputy Art Watson said, “Besides his duties as Lieutenant and Patrol Supervisor, Lt. Lamp has been instrumental in advancing the Department’s technology. He was a key component in developing the body camera program, automatic license plate reader and the current project to upgrade the Department’s mobile radio.”
Lt. Lamp is also active in the New Manchester Volunteer Fire Department
