Reading Nook by Kirsten Pierce

Merry Christmas! Swaney Memorial Library will be closed Thursday, December 24th through January 3rd, 2021. We will reopen at 10 a.m., Monday, January 4th. Until further notice, the library will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays; from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays; and 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays. We ask that you call the library at 304-564-3471 to schedule an appointment before coming and everyone who enters the library must wear a face mask covering both the nose and mouth while inside.
It’s sad that we do not have many participants in our annual Christmas tree contest, but you can still vote for the ones we do have in these uncertain times. Tickets are $1 each or six tickets for $5 and whoever gets the most votes wins half of the money. You can see the three decorated trees from the windows and then schedule to come in and buy your tickets to vote. We wish the CampFire girls, the New Cumberland Garden Club, and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church much success. So come in and vote!
Our Read Together Fall Story Hour has ended, but you can go to Swaney Memorial Library’s Face book page and hear the stories over again while we’re preparing for the spring story hour. Hopefully, we’ll be able to meet in person at the library and you won’t have to watch me embarrass myself online every week! Our spring story hour will begin Wednesday, March 3rd, so stay tuned for more information on that! We hope you join us!
