Ernest “Ernie” Schacht, 67, of Newell, WV, passed away January 18, 2021.
Born in Sewickley, Pa. on January 24, 1953, he was the son of the late Ernest and Virginia (Smith) Schacht.
Ernie was a forklift driver in the warehouse at Homer Laughlin China Company. He was a member of the Eldurays Band and the Ernie and The Country Boys.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Ruth (Young) Schacht of Newell; three stepchildren, Tim Gilbert of New Cumberland, Leslie Gilbert and Franklin Gilbert of Newell; seven step -grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; and a brother, Eddie Schacht of Ambridge, Pa.
Arrangements were handled by the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations may be made to St Jude’s.
