Daniel J. McGeehan

Daniel J. McGeehan, 60, of Chardon, OH formerly of Chester, WV passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord, Ohio.
Danny was born in East Liverpool on February 9, 1960 a son of the late Richard T. “Dick” and Wanda (Dawson) McGeehan. He was a 1978 graduate of Oak Glen High School.
Danny worked in the trucking industry all of his life owning McGeehan Trucking and working the last 11 years as the Regional Sales manager for Mercer Transportation. He was also co-owner and partner of Shamrock Enterprises with his best friend George McIntosh. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester where he was a former devoted altar boy and lector and St Mary’s Church in Chardon where he serves as a lector. He was founder and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Chapter 15486 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Danny was a fierce protector and provider always putting his family first. He was very chivalrous and believed that the best thing you could teach your children is to love their mother. Danny loved life and every member of his family dearly and his big presence filled every room with joy. Jesus Christ was his moral compass and was very instrumental in empowering the faith of others. Danny prayed relentlessly for those he loved. Danny always had time for everyone. He was very instrumental in the lives of young people as a former Cubmaster and baseball coach.
Preceding Danny in death were his brother Lt. Col. Mark C. McGeehan and sister Susan “Kathy” Hissom.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, whom he married January 7, 1984, Cathy L. (Ward) McGeehan; son Nathan McGeehan and his wife Stacey of Chardon, OH; daughter Jessica Marino and her husband Andrew of Chardon, OH; two grandsons Liam and Canaan McGeehan of Chardon, OH; two brothers Tom McGeehan and his wife Vikkii of Plano, TX and Vince McGeehan and his wife Sherrie of Lebanon, OH and four sisters Joyce Brothers and her husband Ashvin of Chester, WV, Marcie Martin and her husband Mike of Chester, WV, Jane Moran and her husband Kenneth of Cranberry, PA and Amy Porter and her husband Mitch of Chester, WV.
Arrangements were handled by the Dawson Funeral Home.
