Federal Funding Heading to Towns and County

   Federal funds are on the way to Hancock County and the incorporated communities of Chester, New Cumberland and Weirton.   The Federal Stimulus bill recently passed contains funding that will go directly to the communities and all 55 counties without being funneled through the Governor and State Legislature.  Senator Joe Manchin who was a proponent of the direct distribution released the amounts to be distributed.
Funds may be utilized for COVID-related expenses, but are also available for use on long term infrastructure projects which include water, sewage and broadband expansion.  

Chester – $990,000.00
New Cumberland – $420,000.00
Weirton – $10.59 million
Hancock County – $5.59 million
