Jeffrey and Joey Davis of Davis Bros. Pharmacy, Jaimee Szymanski of Dynamic Dyslexia recognized by WV Living

Two local businesses and their owners were recognized by WEST VIRGINIA LIVING’S HEALTHY LIVING as Health Care Heroes.

The magazine had solicited nominations from throughout the State for those health care professionals in a variety of occupations who were contributing to the well-being of their communities.

Recognized were Jeffrey and Joey Davis of Davis Bros. Pharmacy and Jaimee Szymanski of Dynamic Dyslexia.

Jeff Davis found his calling when he job shadowed in pharmacy in high school.

“I especially wanted to help the older population – older people are often really confused, and no one in a big pharmacy would give them the time of day,” he said.
After his training and a brief stint in a chain drugstore, he opened his own place. Brother Joey followed.

“It gives me such satisfaction to know that somebody puts their trust in me. That’s what gets me up in the morning,” said Jeff.

Jaimee Szymanski, speech language pathologist and Dyslexia specialist, has been named a West Virginia Health Care Hero. Szymanski, owner of Dynamic Dyslexia in Weirton, is recognized in the current edition of WV Living Healthy.

“When she saw her mother tutor her dyslexic younger sister to success while classmates who had less support struggled, she was inspired to pursue a degree in Speech Language Pathology,” according to WV Living Healthy. “Now people drive hours to the clinic she opened in Weirton in 2019.”

“She is a champion for the dyslexic children in the entire State of West Virginia raising awareness and advocacy for the rights of those with this learning disability,” according to her nominator, her mother Roxanne Szymanski.
