Benjamin “Wayne” Harpold, 93, of New Cumberland, passed, Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Stone Pear Pavilion, following a brief illness.
Born, March 3, 1928, in Chester, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Delphia Ingram Harpold. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Harpold, and sister, Norma Jean Kincaid.
Wayne was a graduate of Chester High School, and he earned a Bachelor of Business degree at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Wayne was a proud veteran of the United States Army and he was employed at Crucible Steel until its closure. He later retired from the United States Postal Service Chester branch, where he worked as a mail carrier.
He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, and raising beagles. Wayne was always up for a good political debate; he was completely and selflessly dedicated to his wife and family.
Wayne will be deeply missed by the love of his life of 70years, Constance Marie DiLoreto; son, Jan Wayne Harpold, and his wife, Dorie of Weirton; sister, Polly Yanko of Huron, OH.; grandchildren, Seth Harpold (Amy) of South Carolina and Meghan Harpold (Lindsey) of Colorado Springs and great-grandchildren, Henry, and Charlotte Harpold.
