The Hancock County Commission in a regular meeting July 22 with Commissioners Paul Cowey and Eron Chek present and Commissioner Jeff Davis participating by phone.
A funding request from Britni Recinella of the Hancock County Parks & Recreation Board for $8,780.00 was approved. The funding will assist with a two-year audit by the WV State Auditor’s Office.
Commissioners approved sending a letter to the Tri-State Master Gardeners for their work in landscaping the New Manchester Gazebo.
The resignation of Sandy Eckenrod was approved effective August 1. Eckenrod is retiring from the Hancock County Clerk’s office where she has worked for 25 years. Commissioners expressed their thanks for Eckenrod’s service.
In other business, the Commissioners:
**Approved payment of Eckenrod’s accrued vacation time;
**Approved the hire of Charli T. Infante effective August 1;
**Approved a General Fund Budget Revision;
**Approved County Bills of $29,655.66
**Noted that Tom Zielinsky will present the second in a series of talks at the Hancock County Museum.
