Hancock County currently has 15 active COVID cases. According to Jackie Huff, Dept. of Health administrator, the County’s COVID rate is now considered moderate. She anticipates testing clinics to begin again as concern for COVID transmission escalates once again in the wake of the highly contagious Delta Variant. As of July 29, the State of West Virginia currently has a positivity rate of 4.35 percent
The Health Department continues to make vaccinations available. Huff said Pfizer vaccinations are available at the Department. Residents are advised to call for an appointment at 304-564-3343. The Health Department, located at 100 Court Street, New Cumberland, is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
