Charles Carpenter Jr. of Weirton, WV passed away peacefully on August 6, 2021, at The Weirton Medical Center. He was born September 23, 1933 in Lost Creek, WV. He was the son of the late Mary and Charles Carpenter Sr. He was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Billy, Larry, Frank, and Carroll (Oscar), 2 sisters, Patricia Bundy and Gloria Deem, and a great grand-daughter, Tessa Elise Wilson.

Charlie graduated from Monaca (PA) High School and was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1953. Charlie was a retired Operating Engineer from Martin-Marietta in Georgetown, PA. He enjoyed fishing, playing music, singing, square-dancing, woodworking, gardening, and photography for which he won many ribbons at the Hookstown Fair. Charlie was active for many years with Country Friends, singing and playing guitar and electric bass.

Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Betty Carpenter, and siblings John (Linda) Carpenter, Harry (Janet) Carpenter, and Tom (Rose) Speary. He is also survived by 3 daughters, Katherine Sargeson. Patricia (Ed) Torok and Audrie Merrell as well as a step-daughter, Patricia (Lloyd) Latshaw, and 3 step-sons, Wayne (Kathy) Mineard, Fred (Nancy) Mineard, and Richard (Nancy) Mineard. Charlie also has many surviving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He will be fondly remembered and missed by family, friends, and fans alike.
