Your Imagination Station

With Connie & Shauna

What a SUMMER OF FUN it’s been here at the library. We’ve wrapped up all of our SUMMER programs and are now planning for the FALL. And let me just say…..you’re gonna want to stay tuned to our Facebook page, because we have a TON of new programs coming this fall and winter. We’re ready to just burst with excitement for all the new things. but, we’re gonna keep ya in suspense just a little longer until some of the plans are finalized. Don’t worry though, we won’t let ya miss anything.

Registration is now open for the FALL SESSION of  STORYTIME for children ages birth – 5. It will be held on Wednesdays from September 15-December 8. There’s NO CHARGE, but donations for craft supplies are very much appreciated.

Everyone seems to be enjoying our 3:00 stories every day, so we’ve decided to continue them. There won’t be a theme or crafts with these ones, like there was during the summer reading program, but we’ll still be having a story. So check us out every day and see what adventure we go on.

It looks like we’re going to be able to get a PAINT CLASS schedule for the fall. More details on this just as soon as plans come together for it.

There is a change of date to an event. Our book signing that was scheduled in October needs to be rescheduled. With a conflict in her schedule, Carol Hall won’t be able to come up this way until Spring. But, when she gets here, she’ll have her newest book to share with everyone. Until then, we do have all of her other books for you to check out. They seem to fly off the shelf as quickly as they come in, so hurry in to get yours, or get on the waiting list to be the next reader.

Our FAMILY GAME NIGHT is now being held the first Thursday of every month from 4-6, during the school year. This will allow the students more time for school work, clubs, meetings and sports, but still let them come in and catch up with all the friends they’ve made here over the summer.

If you’re a crafter, then you definitely want to set aside time to join our SIT & STITCH group that meets the 2nd & 4th Friday of every month from 11-1 and/or 5-7. Bring whatever project you’re working on or come and learn a new craft. We’d love to have ya. Oh, and bring some show and tell if you have it.

Our SENIOR STRETCH continues to meet the third Saturday of every month at 10am for the Ladies and 10:45 for the gentlemen. Erin Malcomb, certified instructor, will lead us in joint friendly, keep ya movin’ chair exercises. Come stretch with us.

Don’t forget that our PLARN MAT, aka “bag” ladies, will be meeting the 3rd Friday of every month, to prep more bags for our crocheters, so we can send mats to our deployed soldiers. They appreciate them so much.

Do you have old eyeglasses lying around? We are still collecting them for the Lions Club. Bring yours in and drop them off. We’ll be sure they get them.

Speaking of things lying around, we always welcome gently used books. So, if you have any and don’t know what to do with them, bring them on in. We just received a lot of PAPERBACK books that are ready to be taken out. You’ll find them in their usual spot, to the left, as you walk in the door.

We’ve got a lot going on to the outside of the library too. The roadway around us is being paved, and boy is it going to be nice. Once it’s finished, we’ll be painting the lines in the parking lot and adding our new parking signs.

Remember to check out our Facebook page, Lynn Murray Memorial Library, for all of our videos, pictures, NEW book releases that are available, any updates and all events that are coming.

Until next time…. grab a book and let your imagination take you places you’ve never been.
