- Richard Smith, 69, of Newell, passed away August 24, 2021.Born in East Liverpool, Ohio on February 10, 1952, he was the son of the late Dale and Edith (Streets) Smith.Richard graduated from Oak Glen High School, class of 1971. He was a retired Respiratory Therapist at East Liverpool City Hospital.Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Todd and a sister-in-law, Wendy Smith.Surviving are a son, Shawn (Jennifer) Smith of South Carolina; two grandchildren, Robbie and Bobbie Jo; five great-grandchildren, Chevie, Eiven, Kinsley, Myles and Bentley: a sister, Jackie (Kip) Miller of Wellsville; a brother, Barry Smith of Chester; his partner, James Handy of Wellsville; two nieces, Jennifer and Brande; several great nieces and nephews; and by his best buddy canine, Blaze.Private arrangements were handled by the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV.
