The Hancock County Democratic Women held their monthly meeting on August 25, 2021, at Bob Evans Restaurant, Three Springs Drive, Weirton, West Virginia with President Teresa McCombs calling the meeting to order and welcoming those in attendance. The Pledge Of Allegiance was not said, in that, the flag was not available.    Silent attendance was taken.  Secretary and Treasurer’s report were read and accepted. The Treasurer’s Report will be filed for audit. It was decided that the club scholarship will be desolved until further notice. Marianne Turkal made a motion that the club scholarship will  be desolved until further notice. Seconded by Kathy Link. No questions. Motion carried. President McCombs made a motion that the monthly meetings be returned to Mondays at 5:00 p.m. at Bob Evans Restaurant.  Seconded by Mary Lou Krzeczowski.  No questions.  Motion carried. The “Ready For Fall Online Auction” fundraiser was discussed further.  The members were asked to donate at least one or two items for the basket to be assembled at the September 20th meeting.  There will be a lot of goodies.  The online auction will be on the Hancock County Democratic Women website starting on September 20th until November 1st for bidding.  The winner will be announced on November 1st and need not be present. A nominating committee was appointed for nominating officers for next year.  The slate of officers will be announced at the September 20th meeting. The installation of new officers will be held at Mario’s Restaurant, Main Street, Weirton.on November 15th at 5:00 p.m.        With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.        The next meeting will be held on September 20th at Bob Evans Restaurant, Three Springs Drive, Weirton with dinner at 5:00 p.m., if you desire to eat. The business meeting starts at 6:00 p.m.        The Democratic women are hosting a membership drive and welcoming new members. We need members.  Prospective members must be a Democrat who resides in Hancock County.  The annual dues are $10.00 payable upon joining.  Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at Bob Evans Restaurant.
