GIRL SCOUT PROJECT BRINGS BOOKS TO CAMPGROUND

Girl Scout Lillian Ford believes has provided books to campers in West Virginia State Parks through her Gold Award Project.   Ford said her goal was to create and install book exchanges in three West Virginia State Parks: Tomlinson State Run, Audra and Cedar Creek.

The book exchange is located beside the Campstore at Tomlinson Run.  Ford is shown with Tomlinson Run Superintendent Morris as she places the books in the exchange box.   She said that the exchange has been well received with campers taking books out to read the first day it was installed.

In order to earn a Gold Award, Scouts must dedicate 80 hours of community service work during the summer.
