Ethan Arner, 18, was named the December recipient of the Lion’s Club Scholar of the month. He is the son of Pete and Renee Arner of Chester.  He has a twin sister, Sophia.

A senior at Oak Glen High School, Ethan currently holds a 4.04 GPA.  He has been enrolled in college classes through West Virginia Northern Community College during his junior and senior year. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and Sports Management Club.  During his sophomore year, Ethan was chosen to represent Oak Glen in the Weirton Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Program. Ethan is a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he has been active in the youth group.

Ethan is a four-year member of the basketball team. He has been named to the OVAC All-Academic Team all four years while playing on the basketball team. He was a member of the baseball team his freshman year.

After graduation, Ethan plans to attend West Virginia University to study business.  Additionally, he plans to attend mortuary science school with the intention of carrying on the family business with Arner’s Funeral Chapel.
