HANCOCK COUNTY COMMISSION PRAISES COMMUNITY EFFORT

          Hancock County Commissioner President Paul Cowey praised the community response to provide warming stations and food for those were without power during the recent power outage caused by the February 3rd snowstorm.   He said that for some the outage lasted 30 hours and warming stations were located at the Millsop Community Center, New Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department, New Manchester Volunteer  Fire Department and the Chester Volunteer Fire Department. 

         Commissioners accepted the  resignation of the Robert Koper, longtime member of the Tomlinson Public Service District.  Commissioner Jeff Davis said Koper, who died Feb. 10, dedicated many years of service to the public service district.    They agreed to advertise for the vacancy on the Tomlinson PSD.   

          Approval was given to advertise for a Technical Advisory Committee position on the Brooke Hancock Jefferson Planning Commission   The individual selected will serve a two-year term ending in January 2024.  Interest parties must submit their name, address, telephone number and brief background information to the Hancock County Commission, PO Box 485, New Cumberland or by e-mail at [email protected].
