Hervey Willis “Bill” Swearingen, 85, of New Cumberland, WV passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at The Peachtree Inn Chester, WV.
He was born January 14, 1937 in Weirton, WV a son of the late Elmer Willis & Ruth Elizabeth (McAtee) Swearingen. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia Viola “Patty” (Watson) Swearingen on February 13, 2022; a brother Elmer Paul Swearingen and a sister Ann Chamberlain.
Bill was a truck driver for the Teamsters and retired as a Business Agent for Local # 428; and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his daughters Jody (Ralph) Mitchell of Aspen, CO and Marcy (Argyle) Dillon of Reynoldsburg, OH; his brother Robert (Dorothy) Swearingen of New Cumberland, WV; 5 Grandchildren and 6 Great grandchildren.
Friends will be received Monday from 10:00 am until time of services at 12:00 pm at Turley Funeral Home.
Services will be there Monday, February 28, 2022 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Sharmune Burgess and Pastor Robert Staub officiating. Interment will follow at New Cumberland Cemetery.
