William “Bill” Triplett, 86, of Newell, WV, passed away March 15, 2022.Born February 3, 1936 in Ashland, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Jesse and Opal (Salyers) Triplett.He served in the United States Army. He was a retired Machinist at Home Laughlin China Company. Bill was a faithful member of the former Newell Methodist ChurchIn addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilee Triplett; two sisters, Phyllis Grimm and Tommy Sprouse; a brother, Jesse Triplett; and also an infant brother, Frank.Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Yvonne (Long) Triplett of Chester; two daughters, Sandy (Don) Samples of Newell and Jan (Jim) Halstead of Newell; four grandchildren, Tyler and Luke Samples, and Lyndsy (Greg) Conrad and Griff Halstead; and a great-grandchild, Boone Conrad;Also by three sisters Sue Hill of Texas, Kay (Gary) Ramsey of South Carolina and Carol (Gary) McClung of Ohio; and two brothers, Mike (Debbie) Triplett of Ohio and Jeff (Earline) Triplett of South Carolina.Visitation is Friday, from 5-7pm at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV, where funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, March 19, 2022. The American Legion Post 121 and VFW Post 6450 will conduct military services. Interment will follow in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, WV.
