(WEIRTON, WV) –WMC’s Emergency Department has earned recertification for Designation as a West Virginia Trauma Center.  WMC has been recertified for a permanent designation as a Level IV WV Trauma Center by the WV Office of Emergency Medical Services.  WMC’s is the only Emergency Facility in Weirton-Steubenville to hold a trauma designation.  According to the WV OEMS, the state’s Trauma Centers demonstrate a strong commitment to 24-hour availability of resources to care for an injured patient.  WV Trauma Centers are designated as Level I, II, III or IV.
