Have you heard of the Reading with Rover program? We are so very happy to be involved with it. It’s a program where children read to dogs to help them increase their comfort in reading aloud, achieve higher reading levels, show empathy, enhance social skills, and improve their confidence, and bring them out of their shyness. These dogs are trained very well and absolutely love having the children read to them. We just had our second visit from our group of therapy dogs, and what an amazing day it was. The handlers commented on how much the children have improved in their reading in the two months since they were last here. Just look at the photos. Then you decide who had more fun, the dogs or the kids. It so warms my heart to see these children enjoy reading. If you think this would be a good program for your child(ren), keep an eye out for the next time they come to visit.  

   We also had our very first night of  Build Club. Talk about a fun night ! We had a blast building things out of Legos. We also had a couple kids working with K’Nex and a couple adults helping kids with an electricity build. Yeh, a good time, for sure. We will be meeting every Tuesday evening at 4:00, through August 16. Come on out and have some fun with us.

   Aren’t summer evenings the best time to grab a book, relax and let your imagination take you places you’ve never been.
