On Wednesday, June 8, 2022, Charlotte Victoria Knight McCoy, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 78.
Charlotte was born on July 18, 1943, in New Cumberland to Oral and Verna Knight. She graduated high school from New Cumberland High School, where she met the love of her life, Gene McCoy. Charlotte and Gene got married on June 18, 1966 and went on to spend 56 wonderful years with each other. Together, they raised two daughters, Victoria and Cindy. Charlotte worked as a clerk at the Hancock County Health Department for 34 years.
Charlotte was a beautiful and caring woman, who loved spending time with her family. She especially loved watching her four grandchildren grow up, Maggie, Alexander, Mallory and Jennifer. She enjoyed attending church and was a member of Immaculate Conception in New Cumberland. She found joy in watching her grandkids at their sporting events, spending time with her husband at Mountaineer Race Track, and taking part in bowling and golfing leagues. She will be remembered for her kindness and care for her family.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, Oral, her mother, Verna, her brother, Donald and her sister, Nancy. She is survived by her husband, Gene, her two children, Victoria (David) DiLullo and Cindy (Gary) Kovalcik, her four grandchildren, Maggie, Alexander, Mallory and Jennifer, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022. Services will be at 10 a.m., June 14, 2022 with Fr. Jeeson Stephen as celebrant. Interment will be in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
