BOARD OF EDUCATION TAKES PERSONNEL ACTION

The Hancock County Board of Education took the following action at its July 26th meeting:

**Approved the Police Resource Officer (PRO) agreement with the City of Weirton Police Department on a 4-0 vote.   Three PRO officers will be supplied by the Department in the upcoming 22/23 school year.  Board member Gerard Spencer who is also a Weirton police officer, abstained from voting;

**Accepted the resignations of Britney Reed, school nurse at Weir Middle; Brenna Johnson, Multi-Categorical Autism, Weirton Elementary; Tricia Guglielmo, Multi-Categorical/Autism; and Janelle Bickel, grade 2, Weirton Elementary;

**Approved transfers for Marissa Elliott, substitute to Grade 2, Weirton Elementary; Emily Ruiz, Grade 5, Weirton Elementary to Grade 2, New Manchester Elementary; Brooke Haynes, Grade 7, Oak Glen Middle, to Grade 8, Oak Glen Middle; Chris Hills, Multi-Categorical/Autism, Oak Glen High, to Social Studies, Grade 7, Weir Middle; and Jennifer Molish to Family & Consumer Science, Oak Glen High;

**Approved the assignment of Kendahl Stanley as Social Studies teacher at Weir High;

**Approved the release of Tim Provenzano as Assistant Baseball Coach, Weir High;

**Accepted coaching resignations from Jaison Polly, Head Boys’ Soccer, Oak Glen High, and Chris Hill, Head Swimming, Oak Glen High;

**Approved coaching assignments for Jaison Polly, Assistant Girls’ Soccer, and Megan White, Assistant Cheering, for Oak Glen High;

**Approved a coaching assignment for David DeFelice, as Assistant Wrestling, Weir Middle;

**Accepted the resignation of Chris Hill as Junior Class Sponsor, Oak Glen High;

**Assigned Michael Shockley as We Take a Stand sponsor at Weir Middle;

**Granted a unpaid leave of absence to Amy McKitrick, Cook III, Central Kitchen;

**Transferred Oliver Lonkert from Custodian IV, GM, Rockefeller Career Center, to Custodian IV/GM, Maintenance Deparment.

The next regular meeting will be held Monday, August 8, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.
