Change, Inc. announced that the Summer Food Program, sponsored by the U. S. Department of Agriculture served children ages 18 and under approximately 1,293 breakfast and 3,679 lunches at 7 different sites throughout Brooke and Hancock counties from June 6 to July 29.
Each year the USDA partners with local organizations like Change, Inc. to provide free meals for children when school is out for the summer. The program responds to the community’s need for nutrition meals for children in low-income areas while school is out. This is the 16th year for the Change, Inc. Summer Food Program.
