- Lester Waide, 95, of Newell, passed away August 23, 2022.Born November 1, 1926 in Newell, WV, he was the son of the late Ralph and Jenny (Ash) Waide.Lester served in the United States Navy. He retired after working 46 years for New Castle Refractories.He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff S. Waide and three brothers, and a sister.Surving are his devoted wife, Norma (Beaver) Waide of Newell; a daughter, Nancy (Craig) Boyd of Chester and four grandchildren, Jeff P. Waide, Tim Boyd (Crystal) , Jenifer Waide and Rebecca Manko; four great- grandchildren, Garrett, Brittney, Jadyn and Nicholas; and two great-great-grandchildren, Weston and Remi.Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 Friday, August 26,2022, at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV, where funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 27, 2022.Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens,Newell,WV.
