James Robert Blackwell, 78, of New Cumberland, WV passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Stone Pear Pavilion Chester, WV.
He was born September 6, 1943 in Steubenville, OH a son of the late Joseph Dean & Ruth Clara (McCombs) Blackwell. He was also preceded in death by his wife Pat Blackwell, son Jeremy Blackwell, daughters Russella Mills & Shelly Herron, 3 brothers Charles Eugene, Michael Erik and David Gary Blackwell; and 2 sisters an infant sister and Janet Vidmar.
Jim retired from Weirton Steel Corp as a Mechanic in the company garage, and was a Navy veteran.
Surviving are his children Jason Blackwell of Myrtle Beach, SC; John (Robin) Mills of Germany, and Munch Mills of New Cumberland, WV; 2 sisters Jo Ellen Blackwell of New Cumberland, WV & Kathy Maney of SC; 3 brothers Richard Blackwell of New Cumberland, WV; Larry (Sue) Blackwell of Weirton, WV and Jon (Belinda) Blackwell of VA; 11 Grandchildren & 7 Great Grandchildren.
Per Jim’s wishes there will be no visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Turley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
