Weirton, WV – The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club (UOVCC) is coming to the Summit Art Gallery for a new exhibition on Thursday, September 29th. The Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau and Arts Council (TWVAC) are excited to partner with the club once again to display the photography of nine members.
The show will feature the winners from its September Annual Competition, consisting of 16 different categories including scenic, sunrise and sunsets, special effects, pets, black and white, children, and flowers. Images were taken using digital and film cameras as well as cell phone photography.
Originally known as the Steubenville Camera Club, UOVCC was established in 1974 in Steubenville, Ohio. The name adapted later to be more inclusive to additional members from West Virginia and Ohio. Meetings at the Two Ridges Presbyterian Church Hall are free and open to persons of all ages and experience levels.
The participating photographers will be present during the opening reception on September 29th from 6-8 p.m. Guests are invited to vote on their favorite photograph and a People’s Choice Winner will be announced at the end of the evening. Light refreshments will also be served during this free event. The exhibition will be on display at the Summit Art Gallery through November 1st during gallery hours, 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday.
