Kathleen Owen, 77, of Chester, passed, Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Stone Pear Pavilion, following a lengthy illness.
Born, January 7, 1945, in Georgetown, PA., she was the daughter of the late William E. and Dorothy Edmunds Cromer.
Kathleen was a graduate of South Side High School Class of 1962. In her lifetime she worked various job including, secretary for the United States Navy, Allison’s Restaurant, Fox’s Nursing Home and National Church Supply. She was a member of Bethel Church in Georgetown, PA.
Kathleen’s quick wit and sense of humor served her throughout her life putting people at ease and bringing smiles and laughter to those around her. Kathleen’s greatest joy was her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and cats and was adored by them in turn. There are no words to properly describe the indelible effect she had on each of their lives. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and shopping.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Christine Bost and her husband Paul of East Liverpool, Jodi Heffner and her husband, Brent of Chester and Leann Spencer of Wheeling; grandchildren, Katie Heffner, Ryan Bost, Jonathan Bost, Bailey Spencer, Jessica Bost, and Caroline Spencer; great granddaughter, Elaina Bost; sister, Eileen Matchett and her husband Larry of Alexandria, VA.; She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, Randy Matchett, Ronald Cromer; Scott Matchett (Angie), Leslie Stroud (Brian), Kim Bradich (Louie), and Todd Mackall.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Mackall, brother in-law, Kenneth Mackall, brother, Ronald Cromer, grandson, Timothy Matthew Woolley and former husband, Jack L. Owen.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Lions Den in Newell from 3-5pm.
