HANCOCK COUNTY MUSEUM COMMISSION

September  2022

            The regular meeting of the Hancock County Museum Commission was called to order at 2:00 pm by President Vivian Weigel who also led in the pledge to the flag.

Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted with noted corrections.

Treasurer, Marcus Trelaine presented the financial report which was placed on file for audit.

OLD BUSINESS: 

Vivian reported a new microphone and sound system has been purchased and Robert Bailey has offered to help assemble same and have it ready for our next lecture on September 18th.

NEW BUSINESS:  Vivian announced our next lecture will be held on September 18th at 2:00 pm at the museum with P.J. Zuros highlighting his favorite newspaper columns in The Herald Star History in the Hills.  October 30th will conclude the lecture series with a Halloween Theme.

In other business  President Vivian reported an invitation was received to participate in the New Cumberland Riverfest on September 24th & 25th

Marcus Trelaine moved we participate, Kathy Beagle seconded and motion carried. 

John Speerhas offered to set up the tent and help man the booth from noon to 5;00 pm with a children’s game with prizes.  Members and asked to help as you can.  The festival is a two day affair with a church service at 11:00 am opening the festivities on Sunday.

Some members have obligations that keep them from participating due to scheduling so it was unanimously agreed to change our meeting time to 1:00 pm.

Our next meeting will be held October 5, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the museum.  Everyone is welcome.
