- James Edward Dotson, 90, of Newell, WV, passed away October 2, 2022.Born February 11, 1932 in Shinnston, WV, he was the son of the late Claytie and Stella (Edwards) Dotson.Mr. Dotson proudly served in the United States Army, Korean Conflict. He worked in the Maintenance Dept. for the former Globe Brick. He was a member of the Chester American Legion.He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet (Byers) Dotson; and three sisters, Eva Burnside, Lenora Allison and Ruth Engelman.Surviving are a son, Jim (Jenny) Dotson of East Liverpool; a daughter, Lori Beckwith (Joe Guardado) of Newell; four grandchildren, Janet Ream, Jamie Stine, Ashley Kurensky and Kenneth Beckwith; four great grandchildren, Kobi, Mackenzie, Gabi and Oakley; a brother, Harland Dotson of Las Vegas; a sister, and Esther Stout of Ohio.Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. Thursday, Oct 6th , at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV, where funeral service will be held at 11a.m on Oct 7,2022.Interment will follow in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, WV. The American Legion Post 121 and the VFW Post 6450 Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
