OBITUARY: JOAN D. SHIPE

Joan D. Shipe, 81, of Salineville, passed, Sunday, October 16, 2022, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born, February 10, 1941, in Rochester, PA., she was the daughter of the late Clyde W. and Mary V. Adams Kidder.

Joan was also preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford, and Clyde Kidder.

She attended Rochester High School and later attended beauty school. She worked various jobs throughout her life, which include a beautician, nurse’s aide, and inspector for Armco Steel in Ambridge.

Joan had a vibrant, extraordinary, and opinionated personality. She was headstrong, determined and a hard worker.  

Joan will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 36 years, Veral Shipe; children, Debbie Knott (Lenny Cox) of Hookstown, PA, William E. Marier (Janet) of Rochester and Jeff Maier (Tina) of Virginia; stepson Eric Shipe of Virginia; brothers, Richard Kidder (Carolyn) of SC. and Jim Kidder of, OH.; sister, Sheryl Monigold of Salineville; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at The Orchards of East Liverpool, East Liverpool City Hospital ICU and 4th floor nurses and staff and Buckeye Hospice for their exceptional care during this difficult time.

Per Joan’s wishes, no services are planned at this time. She is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel.
