OBITUARY: BETTI HILL

 Betti Louise (Lengyel) Hill went home to be with the Lord at 4 am on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the East Liverpool City Hospital. Her spirit is carried on by her 5 dearly loved children and their spouses, Ruthanne & George Danford; Patricia Kirchner & Ron Moore; Vikki & Dr. Phil Roholt; Terri & Dr. Lee Swearingen, and Dr. Ted & Cami Hill, as well as 9 grandchildren; Dr. Teresa Edwards (Chris); Drew Roholt (Laura); Tess Roholt; Jillian Felton (Jacob), Nikki Fernandez (Nic); Dr. Jaime McElroy (Steve); Whitney Whitehead (Zack); Dr. Alexis Naylor (Jacob), and Dr. Andrew Hill (Kenzie), along with 8 great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sibling, Nick Lengyel (Springfield, MO). She will be deeply missed by many others who she considered family. Her children were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Betti during her 89 years. She inspired them to be hard-working, strong, confident, independent, and friendly, as she was. No matter where she went, she never met a stranger.Betti was a longtime member of the Pughtown Elementary PTA, serving as president for two years. She was the Secretary of the Planning Committee for the Tomlinson Public Service District and belonged to several card clubs. She frequently helped with New Manchester’s Annual 4th of July Parade and was honored by being co-named with her husband as Grand Marshals. Betti attended New Manchester Presbyterian Church, where she helped with craft making, fundraising, dinners, and creating special banners. When this church closed, she joined Everyday Church, led by Pastor Mike Direnzo. She was heavily involved in the Fairview Grange. She worked at New Manchester Elementary School for years, where she was affectionately known by students as “The Lunch Lady”.Betti’s love for Jesus now reunites her with her cherished husband of 63 years, Lester (Pete) Hill, and will be laid to rest alongside him at the Union Cemetery in New Manchester following 1:00 p.m. services on Wednesday, October 26 at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Pastor Mike Direnzo will officiate. Friends can visit with Betti’s family at Arner’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 25, from 2 until 4 p.m. and from 6 until 8 p.m. In Betti’s memory, donations may be sent to EVERYDAY Church, P.O.
