Gary E. Jones, 79, passed away October 25 at Brightwood Center, Follansbee, after a short illness. He was born January 19, 1943, to the late Harold W. Jones and Hattie Watson Jones. He is survived by his sister Marian R. Caine, New Cumberland, his sister-in-law Velva Jones Williamson, Ft Myers and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Frederick Dean Jones, Ft. Myers, FL., his nephews John Caine Jr., and Jeffery Caine and his niece Sharon Kay Williamson.
Gary worked for nearly 30 years at Homer Laughlin China in Newell, WVA. He was a member of Point Pleasant Methodist Church, New Cumberland, where he was active in assisting anywhere there was a need. He was active in the Methodist Men and the Oakland Grange. He loved people, country and gospel music and church dinners and holiday times with family.
A memorial service to celebrate Gary’s life will held at 11am on Saturday October 28th, at Point Pleasant Methodist Church, 52 Bell Hill Road, New Cumberland WV. Rev. Sharmure Burgess and Pastor Walter Fordyce, officiate.
