NEW CUMBERLAND SEEKS TO FILL COUNCIL SEAT

The City of New Cumberland is seeking to fill the Ward I, Seat C Council seat from a vacancy created by the death of former Councilman Richard Blackwell. Sean Lauritzen, who formerly ran for Council against Mellissa Perkins, was present at the meeting to express an interest in the position. Mayor Will White said that a workshop will be held on filling the seat Jan 23 at 4:30 p.m. All interested candidates are encouraged to attend so that Council may learn a little about them. The decision will be made at the Feb. 1 meeting.

Council voted to purchase Christmas lights to extend the program into upper town at a cost $2633.05

**Approved payment of monthly invoices of $49,419,55

**Approved a draw of $900 for the Sewer project;

**Approved a draw of $15,650 for a change order for the sewer project;

**Approved light for the city garage (old city building) at $6,245

**Approved a donation of $200 for CASA;

**Agreed to rent room 210 to Tammy West at a cost of $150/month;

**Heard a report from Community Services Director George Hines on the Wreathes Across America Program.: Hines reminded residents that for the cost of $15 residents could buy one/get one free;

**According to Hines a double door is going to be installed in the entranceway to the building to keep heat from escaping;

**He noted that the Veteran’s Memorial Project is coming along nicely.
