Employees and management at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort are extending a helping hand to the community in a variety of ways. “Mountaineer Cares” is a group of volunteers who are willing to provide assistance in the community in any way they can. Membership in the CARE group is open to any Mountaineer employee. Most recently,, Mountaineer took to Facebook to ask if there were any residents in need of having their walk shoveled and provided a phone number to call.
Britny Koski, who serves as the contact for the group said that Mountaineer was looking for a way to enhance their current and local social responsibility. To date the group has assisted the Community Bread Basket with distribution of food, Second Harvest with food distribution and preparation. Volunteers have served as bell ringers for the Salvation Army and worked on the Army’s Angel Tree. Financial donations from casino players, and Mountaineer Casino with volunteer work being done by employees.
