The Chester Lions Club had special visitors at a recent meeting from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department. Sergeant Hugh Tate, Deputy Dante DiJirolanio, and K-9 officer Kevin stopped by to pick up a donation from the club towards the procurement and training of a new K-9 officer for the department. While they were there, they provided a very interesting presentation on the training, handling, and use of the dogs. The club also donated a flag in their “Flags for Heroes” program in honor of all the County K-9 officers. The dogs are truly amazing animals and the community is very fortunate to have them and all of the officers working every day to keep us safe.
