WEIRTON HEIGHTS ROTARY DONATES TO WMC LABOR & DELIVERY

The Weirton Heights Rotary Club recently purchased two brand new MamaRoo® Multi-Motion Baby Swings for WMC’s Maternal/Child Services.  The MamaRoo motions mimic parents’ natural rhythms and movements to become a familiar and safe place for baby.  “We are so grateful for this generous donation from the Weirton Heights Rotary Club,” says Kristen Smitsky, RN, BSN, Director WMC Maternal/Child Services.  According to Smitsky, the MamaRoo is the best nonpharmacological treatment to soothe the most vulnerable babies.  This infant seat helps to provide a calming environment by combining gentle motion and soothing sounds to those babies who may need a little extra support at the beginning of life.  “It is the closest to human touch that we can provide to our babies during their stay here at Weirton Medical Center,” Smitsky concludes.    In attendance for the donation: Joi Gorlock, WMC Chief Nursing Officer Weirton Heights Rotary Members Brandon Palmeri, Ed PowellBrenda MullJohn GrecoJoyia LytleAnthony BernardiRoger IslaLisa Conti, WMC Vice President and Rotary MemberJeremy Crow, Weirton Heights Rotary President
