2                             FIDELIS GAMMA CHAPTER NEWSPAPER ARTICLE

     The Fidelis Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Women’s Educators Organization met at Eat ‘n Park with 12 members attending on April 20, 2023, with Diane Higgins presiding.  President Higgins welcomed the members, and she read an inspirational reading and gave a blessing for the meal.

     Secretary Ruth Fuller read the minutes from the March 2, 2023,  meeting, and they were approved.  Margo Polk’s form for Altruistic hours, monetary and non-monetary items were recorded.  Treasurer Carolyn Allison gave the financial report.  

     President Higgins requested members read the Chapter Bylaws and Amendments for Alpha Delta Kappa.  Each Article was approved with a motion, second, and unanimous agreement. 

     Scholarship Chairman Liz Pugh reported that students are applying, and we are anticipating additional applications.  Fraternity Education was presented by President Higgins.  She asked each member to recall who had invited them to join our organization.  Each member shared their sponsor.

     Allison suggested that we consider adding the Christian School next year to the scholarship list.  The item was tabled with the members giving thought to the suggestion. 

     Under New Business:  Donna Roman thanked the members for the “Get Well” cards sent during her illness.  Under Concerns, members were asked to remember Eileen Snyder while she recovers at her son’s home in Ohio.  

     President Higgins is seeking a new establishment for our monthly meetings.  (The Garden Grill Steakhouse is changing their hours, so we are unable to meet at the restaurant.  Fuller and President Higgins shared information on two possible locations.  

     Allison reminded members that we will have our BIRTHDAY PARTY during the May meeting, where she will collect the birthday money for the year.  Each member will pay 10 cents a year.

     April birthdays were recognized for Susan Cullinan, Sandi Anderson, and Ruth Fuller.  Donna Durkin presented Pansies as a door prize.  Winners were Ruth Fuller, Lola Bender, and Twinkle Smith.

     Special thanks was given to Donna Durkin and Margo Polk for hosting the meeting.  May hostesses are Bonnie Queses and Nancy Conley.

     The next meeting will be on May 4, 2023, at Aloha Delights in Weirton, WV. at 12:00. 

     The meeting adjourned with the singing of “The Lamp of Alpha Delta Kappa.”
