Spring is finally here, and that means summer won’t be far behind!  It’s time to spruce up your yard and start thinking about warm weather and being outdoors.  The city of New Cumberland plans to kick off the summer season with Memorial Day festivities on May 29^th  that include a parade, food, and lots of fun activities.  In order to get our town looking great for the holiday weekend, the city of New Cumberland and the NC Volunteers are sponsoring a yard decorating contest.  Let your house and yard star in a salute to the stars and stripes and the red, white, and blue.  You can decorate your front door, porch, fence, etc. to show off your patriotism and the American spirit.  Entries will be judged on how well they celebrate the patriotic spirit, and cash prizes will be given for first, second, and third place.  The contest begins on May 1^st and ends on May 29^th when the winning house will be announced.  More details about the city parade and activities will be announced later.
