NEW CUMBERLAND LIONS MEET

President Dorothy Hawkes brought the meeting to order.  Lion Pam Stiles offered the Prayer and President Dorothy Hawkes led the Pledge of Allegiance.  The minutes were accepted as read and the treasurer’s report was placed on file for audit.  There were no communications.  The treasurer noted that the International dues will be increasing over the next 3 years with no changes in State dues.  Lion Tom Stiles noted that the Adopt-A-Highway clean-up has been rescheduled for May 13.  The New Cumberland Lions Club will have the first pulled pork of the year on Saturday, May 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or as long as food lasts.  This will be in the parking lot of the Swaney Memorial Library in New Cumberland and the barbeque pork will be provided by Hale’s High Street Kitchen.   Future dates of the pulled pork fundraisers are July 1, July 29, August 26 in the Swaney Memorial Library parking lot and the during the New Cumberland Riverfest in September on River Avenue in New Cumberland.   Lion Jeanne Cox is providing the truck for the Memorial Day Parade in New Cumberland with some Lions walking to hand out candy.  Lion Loretta Tate donated Past District Governor Jack Harris’ club pins from his years in the Lions Club.  Lion Bob McNeil has organized these on a display board and suggested adding these to the Lions Memorabilia on display at the City Building.  The Board Meeting will be May 16 at the City Building and the next Regular meeting will be May 23 at the Christian Church.  President Dorothy Hawkes adjourned the meeting.
