REVEREND KEVIN L. BOWERS, 67 of New Cumberland, WV passed away unexpectedly on Sunday June 11, 2023, at Weirton Medical Center. He was born February 28, 1956, in Charleroi, PA, the son of the late Vernon and Ellamae Owens Bowers. 

Kevin was a graduate of Milligan College, Milligan, TN where he earned his Bachelors degree and also Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, IN, having earned his Masters of Divinity degree. During the period between his degrees, he taught elementary education with the Mount Lebanon, PA school district. He retired as Pastor from First Christian Church, Weirton, WV after 27 years, 1991-2018. He was a friend to so many … just a good guy. 

Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Diane Fields Bowers; brothers, Howard Bowers (Sandra) of Indianapolis, IN, Paul Bowers (Janet) of Mount Lebanon, PA; brother-in-law, Greg Fields (Kathryn) of Houston, TX; niece, Julie Bowers; nephews, Jim Bowers, Will Fields, Ben Fields (Catherine), John Fields (Erika), Scott Fields. 

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday June 16, 2023, at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church, 3252 Main Street, Weirton, WV with Reverend Thaddeus Allen and Reverend Mark Mayer presiding. Interment will follow at New Cumberland Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to First Christian Church.
