President Dorothy Hawkes called the meeting to order. Lion Pam Stiles offered the Prayer and Lion Alan Lee led the Pledge of Allegiance. President Dorothy Hawkes welcomed guests Terry Snyder and Bill Snyder from the Follansbee Lions Club. The minutes were accepted as read and the treasurer’s report was placed on file for audit. There was no correspondence. A drawing was held to determine the winner of the Lions Scholarship for Oak Glen. Sam Webster was the winner out of the 9 Scholars selected by the school and was the Lion of the Month for May. Lion Ed Fields reported that the Paper Shed will be available again on July 1. Lion Alan Lee asked for members to sign up for time slots for the July 1 pulled pork takeout. This will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Swaney Memorial Library parking lot in New Cumberland with the pulled pork provided by Hale’s High Street Kitchen at Franco’s. Additional dates for the pulled pork are July 29 and August 26 in the Swaney Memorial Library parking lot in New Cumberland and the last weekend of September at the New Cumberland River Fest on River Ave. Installation of officers was conducted by Terry Snyder. The next meeting will be July 25th, the 4th Tuesday of the month, at the Christian Church in New Cumberland. As this is the annual picnic, members are asked to bring a covered dish. Meat will be provided. The meeting was adjourned.
