It’s just not in the movies that companies pick small towns to bypass the environmental laws. It really happens. It happened here, in New Cumberland. I saw something on WV Metro News that caused me to go the EPA site out of Philadelphia to locate a release about Messr Co. being fined $1.9 million for violating water standards. This is why small towns need local media who are watchdogs against such things. We look out for you. Not only because it’s our job, but because you are our friends and neighbors and we care about you and we care about New Cumberland.
We’ll have more about this situation, Monday. If you don’t have a subscription, get one. It’s $30 and that a small price to pay to stay updated on the news that impacts you.
