Both Oak Glen and Weir High will have new assistant principals with as the schools begin their new school year. Scott Wiley was named Assistant Principal of Oak Glen High while Chris Hill was named Assistant Principal of Weir High at a Special Board meeting Monday, August 21,, 2023 to deal with personnel matters. In other business, the Board:
**Accepted the resignations of Cole Beaver, countywide substitute teacher and Russell E. Johnston, Grade 2 teacher at Weirton Elementary;
**Transfered Clayton Flowers from Science teacher at Weir Middle to Science teacher at Oak Glen Middle;
**Named Macey Gump as substitute teacher, countywide;
**Accepted the resignation of Constantina Hajioannou as Head Boys’ Tennis coach at Weir High;
**Approved Pat Chaney as assistant football coach at Oak Glen Middle;
**Transferred Ray Six from unpaid/volunteer assistant volleyball coach, Oak Glen High to assistant volleyball coach;
**Granted two food truck drivers/custodians be grant four extra days in August to receive deliveries at Central Kitchen to properly distribute/organize food and non-food items;
**Accepted the resignation of Ellen Musgrave as Bus Operator;
**Transferred Terri Rodriguez from Sec. II, Weirton Elementary to Sec. III, Board Office;
**Approved Aryel Kintht as substitute aide, Melissa Warynski as substitute cook and Phillip Sutton as substitute custodian.
Superintendent Dan Enich informed the Board that motivation speaker Frank “Digger” Dawson spoke to gathering of faculty, staff and administrators at the beginning of the school year and announced his intent to start a foundation for the school. Dawson presented a check for $1,000.00 to the foundation.
