OGMS ARCHERY TEAM HOLDING TRYOUTS

2023-24 Oak Glen Middle School Archery

We are pleased and very excited to bring NASP, National Archery in the Schools Program, to the students of Oak Glen Middle School. The first year was a success due in part to the cooperation & generosity of team members and parents. Our mission is simple, we want you to feel connected to our school while learning the knowledge and skills of a lifelong activity. All the extras are a plus, like having fun, developing your eye-hand coordination skills, improved self-confidence, and making new friends.

OGMS Archery Team will hold tryouts for the 2023-24 school year during the week of October 23-26th and Saturday, Oct. 28th for all 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Mandatory attendance is required for all tryout practices. Tryouts will begin Monday, October 23 at Oak Glen Middle. Tryouts are in two phases. In the first phase, students must pass a range-safety test in order to advance onto phase two. In phase two of tryouts, students will have the opportunity to shoot and score at least twice. There will be other factors in addition to highest score taken into consideration for example, behavior during tryouts and in the classroom. Students must maintain a GPA of at least a 2.0 to participate in archery. Students are to report to the school gymnasium for tryouts.
