With a tropical theme, the City of Chester will celebrate the arrival of the holiday season on December 2 featuring a day-long activities and culminating with their annual Christmas parade. The schedule for the day is as follows: Jingle Bell Job – beginning at 9 a.m. in front of EJ’s; Street Vendors, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.. Carolina Avenue; Raffles – Fire Department; Cookies with Santa, pictures and crafts 10 a.m. – 12 noon. Chester City Park; Carriage Rides 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. – behind Citizens’ Drugs; 11 a.m. 12 p.m. – Dave Smith Chili Cookoff – Chester Fire Department; 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. – food – American Legion; KidsBingo – 12 noon – Downstairs VFW (sponsored by the Chester Volunteer FireDepartment – Parade 3p.m. with line-up at 2 p.n.
