OBITUARY: JOHN JORDAN

ohn G. Jordan, 75, passed away at his home in Chester on Saturday, November 25, 2023, while surrounded by his family.

He was born in East Liverpool on January 7, 1948, the son of Paul and Estle Newman Jordan.

John lived his life in the Chester, Lawrenceville area. He graduated from Oak Glen High School in 1966, where he was a member of the very first Oak Glen OVAC Championship football team. After graduation, he joined the Lawrenceville Fire Department where he was chief for several terms. He ended up being a professional truck driver for 36 years. John was proud to have driven over three million safe miles and he served as a teamster’s union steward. John was also a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Along with his parents, his sisters, Patricia Streets and Paulette Taylor, and his great-niece, Deborah Streets preceded him in death.

John is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 51 years, Vicki who was always by his side. Also surviving are his children, Rebecca Coker of Houston, TX, and Johnny Jordan and his wife, Heather of Calcutta, his stepchildren, Christina and David, and grandchildren, Megan, Alexis, Jaden, Preston, Leighton, and Kara. Also, he leaves his great-grandchildren, Aiden, Willow Skye, Emmett, Xavien, and Grayson, nieces and nephews, Susan Tirabassi, Charlene Streets, Andy and Jordan Streets, and John Taylor along with a longtime friend, Terry Hartley.

Family and friends will celebrate John’s life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Friday, December 1, at 3:00 p.m. Friends are invited to visit with his family at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m.
