Elbert Ray McFadden, 88, of New Cumberland, WV passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 at Wellsburg Healthcare Center.

               He was born June 28, 1935 in Cameron, WV a son of the late Timothy “Ross” & Millie (Yoho) McFadden.  He is also preceded in death by his wife Susie E. (Cooper) McFadden in 2019, 5 brothers Lotus, Denzil, Delbert, Sam & Wirley McFadden; 2 sisters Edie Cecil & Naomi Miller; his son in law Mark McAbee and a granddaughter Brenda Hurl.

               Elbert retired from Georgetown Gravel Pit as a welder; was a member of Tomlinson Run Church of Christ.  He belonged to the Square Dance Assoc; loved farming, playing guitars and spending time with his family, especially on Christmas Eve.

               Surviving are his children, Ray “Ed” (Barb) McFadden, Sandy (Dale) Shaft, Beverly (Ronnie) Rawson all of New Cumberland, WV and Larry (Bonnie) McFadden of Colliers, WV; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 Great-great grandchild.

               Friends will be received Friday from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm at Turley Funeral Home.

               Services will be there Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:00 am with Gary Burdine officiating. Interment will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
