HANCOCK COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION RECOGNIZES WEIR HIGH FOOTBALL TEAM

The Hancock County Board of Education recognized the accomplishments of the Weir High Red Rider Football team for being OVAC champions at Monday’s meeting. Superintendent Dan Enich presented each member of the team with a certificate and spoke of the “old-time Weir High football” the team had played and the heart they displayed in the games.

In other action, the Board:

**Accepted the resignation of Patricia Carey as a countywide substitute teacher;

**Approved Larry Burns, Brianna Lauttamus and Ashley Six as countywide substitute teachers;

**Transferred Kaitlyn Rhodes from school nurse at Allison Elementary to school nurse at New Manchester Elementary;

**Accepted the resignation of Joe Provenzano as head golf coach at Oak Glen High and Chris LeFever as head boys’ soccer coach at Weir High;

**Transferred Adam Davis from assistant boys’ track at Oak Glen Middle to head boys’ track at Oak Glen Middle;

**Approved assigments for Reese Willis, assistant wrestling, Weir High; Jim Horstman, assistant boys’ basketball, Weir Middle;

**Granted a leave of absence for Andrea Mercer, bus operator;

**Accepted the resignation of Myrtle Shields, supervisory aide/ECCAT, Weirton Elementary; Loueva Truax. cafeteria manager, Weir High; and Donald Barr, mechanic, transportation dept.’

**Transferred Oliver Lockert from custodian IV/GM, Maintenance Department to Groundsman/Painter, Maintenance Dept,;

**Approved the following substitutes: Elizabeth Lundbert, custodian; Melissa Wallace, aide; Denise Chappell, secretary; and Donald Barr, bus driver;

**Transferred Jacob Horstman from substitute custodian, countywide, to custodian II, Weir High; Gena Rhoades, substitute cook, countywide to cook III, Weirton Elementary; and Wayne Henderson, substitute custodian to custodian II, Weir High;
