CURRENT CITY BUILDING TO GO OUT FOR AUCTION AGAIN; ANOTHER CITY PROPERTY ADDED

The City of New Cumberland put the municipal/city building up for auction at the end of February./1st of March. This marks the second time the property has been placed on online auction. Last time the City failed to get the minimum reserve.   This time, however, the city-owned property  at    204  Pearl Street may be added to the auction.  City Clerk Tammy Jenkins will contact the KIKO Auction company about adding to the municipal city building. 

Council also discussed the  progress of properties which have received notices to either clean up or demolish.  Mayor Will White pointed out that the building which was previously the Manas Theatre/City Post Office has been completely demolished.  He complimented owner Ken Ashley for the project completion.

Council approved the cost of  asbestos inspection and removal for the property at 600 Ridge Avenue which is slated to be demolished once any asbestos work  is completed.       Tree and stump removal on that property was approved for $6,600.00 by Council.’Discussion of progress of other dilapidated  property followed. 

In  other business, Council:

**Made a $250 donation to CASA;

**Approved $3,000 for the street sweeper;

**Approved the joist repair and door replacement at the old city building at a cost of $2,692.00;

**approved monthly invoices of $53,363.25;

**accepted the resignation of Jeremih Crow;

**Agreed to advertise for a full-time UT worker;
