SPIRIT OF SCOUTING AWARD GOES TO HUGH C. TATE, JR.

Hugh C. Tate, Jr. received the Jack Harris Spirit of Scouting Award at Sunday’s Hall of Fame Ceremony. Hugh is pictured with his wife, Jordan, and children, Niko, and baby Demi. The award was established in honor of Jack Harris, former mayor of New Cumberland, and a great proponent of Scouting, who was killed in a car accident in 1996. The award was created by Boy Scout Troop #38 Scout T.J. Greenwood as a part of his service project for his Eagle Scout Award. The recipient must have at some point in their life been active in scouting as a scout or a scout leader and must demonstrate the “spirit of scouting.”
